What is a Royal Resistance class like?
Royal Resistance (RR) is a high tempo, equipment based, functional training class in a supportive group based environment. This varied high intensity class is delivered throughout the week keeping you motivated and gaining great results. No one-hour class is ever the same and we always have fun!
RR classes alternate between working out with weights, battle ropes, tractor tyres, kettle bells, pull up rig, assault bikes, sleds and much more to keep shocking your body!
All classes take place in a high-energy and encouraging environment. The motivating music, and inspiring instructors will motivate you to run, lift, and work harder than ever before!
Will I be okay if I’m a beginner or not already in shape?
You do not need to worry! We welcome all beginners and have a lot of them training and progressing with their fitness journey. We look after all of our first-timers.
To make the most of your first class, we recommend arriving 10 minutes early so we can explain the workout, show you RR and introduce you to your instructor.
Royal Resistance classes are challenging and designed to push you to the next level and get more out of your workout. We endeavor to offer different repetition ranges, time ranges and weight options to give you the choice to work at a lower intensity. For total beginners, you can choose to rest and join in when you have recovered from the previous exercise.
How often should I go?
We recommend three to four classes per week as an optimal number, with two classes per week at a minimum, if you’re committed to seeing a real change in your body and your energy levels.
Listen to your body — if your muscles are very sore, give them time to repair themselves and get to a yoga class/stretching class to help recover.
How long will it take to see results?
Members see results fast! If you are training 3-5 times a week, you should start to see & feel a change in your body in two weeks. Your loved ones will probably see a difference in five weeks. But you will notice a psychological changes almost immediately. You’ll feel better about yourself, you’ll have more energy and you’ll be more motivated to train, and seeing the heads whipping around as you stroll by doesn’t exactly hurt your ego!

How to book my first class?
Book classes via the web site or download the Royal Resistance App. You will need to create an account the first time you book a class/membership. Save your account details for future bookings. You may book classes up to 8 days in advance.
If a class if full then add your name to the waiting list and you will be auto enrolled once someone cancels their spot from that class. There is limit of 4 class per week or 16 per month on the monthly membership. If you exceed this amount then you will need to pay for extra classes.
You will also have to fill out a health questionnaire when you first set up your account.
How do I cancel a Class?
If you can not make a class then please cancel your spot on that class. This needs to be done by yourself via the booking system. This must be done two hours before the class is due to start. If you do not cancel before this time window you will be charged for that class and lose a credit. Cancelling your spot enables someone on the waiting list to be auto enrolled into that class.
What are the costs?
The adult membership is £50 per month and junior membership is £25 per month. All payments are made via the booking system. There is also a PAYG option of £10 per class. All payments are made via the booking system. Select book a class and then pick the best option for you.
Can I use the gym on my own?
The gym is only open for the classes listed on the web site and for PT use. All classes are lead by an expert instructor to push you that bit further with the correct guidence! If you would like to privately book the space then please email email@example.com for further details.
How do I cancel?
If you need to cancel your membership then please drop us an emailing stating you would like to cancel your membership. There is a 30 day notice period to cancel. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org

What are the Junior Fitness Classes all about?
The junior fitness classes are for 10-16 years male and females to join in, work hard and have fun. We try the vary the classes to keep the youngsters engaged and challenging themselves. We always offer rep ranges and encourage each person to give it their best. Please feel free to call for further info or come and watch a class. Thank you.
Where is the best place to park?
There are loads of parking spots around Royal Arsenal but we recommend the Cannon Square car park below the Royal Resistance building. Turn left at Mini garage and then left again and the car park is on your left. Post code – SE18 6GG. It’s 90p per hour.
How to use the Assault Bikes
Adjust the seat hight and enjoy a tough ride! Unlike its road or indoor cycling counterparts, the air bike uses a fan (which is why it’s also called a fan bike) to generate wind resistance, so the harder you pedal, the harder pedaling gets.
What is Elite Boxing?
Elite Boxing classes are for carded boxers or professional boxers only. This allows the coaches to work on different aspects of the sweet science of boxing with these boxers.
What are the opening hours?
RR works differently to other commercial gyms that you may be used to. We are not open all day to pop in when you like. We are only open for specific class and coaches are present for those classes which are bookable via the RR app. We find having instructor lead classes deliver results, keeps the members safe and makes training more social and fun!
