What is Royal Resistance?

Royal Resistance is team based, functional training. We run a variety of high intensity sessions throughout the week that are motivational and get great results. No one-hour session is ever the same and we always have fun!

Our fitness sessions alternate between working out with weights, battle ropes, tractor tyres, kettle bells, pull up rig, running, boxing and yoga.

All sessions take place in a high-energy and encouraging environment. The motivating music, and inspiring instructors will motivate you to run, lift, and and work harder than ever before!


Will I be okay if I’m a beginner or not already in shape?

Don’t worry! We welcome beginners and have a lot of them. While we don’t have a beginner’s session, we look after all of our first-timers in every session.

To make the most of your first session, we recommend arriving 10 minutes early so we can explain the workout and introduce you to your instructor.

Royal Resistance sessions are created for individuals to challenge themselves them selves throughout the session. We always offer different rep and time ranges to give you the option. For ultra beginners, you can choose to rest and join in when you have recovered from the last exercise.


How often should I go?

We recommend four sessions per week as an optimal number, with two sessions per week at a minimum, if you’re committed to seeing a real change in your body and your energy levels. Our membership entitles you to attend any session on the timetable.

Listen to your body — if your muscles are very sore, give them time to repair themselves.


How long will it take to see results?

Members see results fast. If you are going 3-5 times a week, you should start to see & feel a change in your body in 2 weeks. Your loved ones will probably see a difference in 5 weeks. But you will notice a psychological change almost immediately. You’ll feel better about yourself, you’ll be more motivated to train, and seeing the heads whipping around as you stroll by doesn’t exactly hurt your ego!


Do I need to book my first session?

Sign up for a two-week trial and get started straight away. There is no need to book your first session. Please see the timetable of all available sessions. We will give you a call just to make sure you know all the details.


Can I pay as you go?

Unfortunately we do not offer this option. We believe training consistently and getting into a super routine is key for success.


What are the costs?

The adult membership is £50 per month and junior membership is £20 per month. You can attend any session on the timetable.

Can I use the gym on my own?

The gym is only open for the sessions listed on the web site and for PT use. All sessions are lead by an expert instructor to push you that bit further! If you would like to privately book the space then please email steve@royalresistance.co.uk for further details.

Where is the best place to park?

There are loads of parking spots around Royal Arsenal but we recommend the Cannon Square car park below the Royal Resistance building. Turn left at Mini and then left again and the car park is on your left. Post code – SE18 6GG. It’s 80p per hour.
